Job Title: School Nurse (RN – BSN Required)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented School Nurse to support the health and well-being of our students. As a vital member of our school health team, the ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), a current New York RN license, and experience working with children in clinical or educational settings. This role includes direct care, health monitoring, documentation, and collaboration with school staff and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide care for students experiencing illness, injuries (e.g., scrapes, bruises), or other health concerns during the school day
• Maintain accurate, confidential health records in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and school policies
• Monitor and support students with chronic health conditions such as asthma or diabetes
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and healthcare providers to implement individualized health plans
• Respond to medical emergencies and arrange appropriate follow-up care
• Promote health education, hygiene, and disease prevention across the school community
• Ensure compliance with immunization and health screening mandates
• Maintain a clean, well-organized, and properly stocked health office

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably with school-aged or pediatric populations
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Strong communication, organization, and record-keeping skills
• Empathetic, patient, and child-friendly approach

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a school setting or pediatric healthcare environment
• Familiarity with New York State health regulations for schools
• Bilingual abilities a plus
