Registered Nurse - Inpatient Mental Health New

A healthcare organization in Central New York is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Mental Health team at one of their inpatient psychiatric facilities in Binghamton.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Evenings
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week (including rotating weekends)
• Hours: 3pm to 11:30pm
• Setting: Inpatient Mental Health

Responsibilities:

• Conduct nursing assessments; and obtain, record, and update individuals health information and vital signs, using standard instruments and procedures
• Pass medications, produce documentation, and complete other tasks appropriate to RNs in an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting
• Consult and coordinate with treatment teams and other health care disciplines to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate individuals
• Prepare individuals for and/or assist with examinations and treatments; and administers medications and nursing procedures to individuals, as prescribed
• Provide health teaching, counseling, and education to individuals, families, and other groups
• Implement infection control protocols and procedures and provide related consultation and instruction to staff
• Maintain and update charts, records, and other documentation, consistent with agency, State, and federal requirements; and may collect data and perform related activities to support medical research
• Monitor inventories and ensure that standards for medications, solutions, supplies, and equipment are maintained to meet nursing care needs
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of Clinical experience in a Mental Health setting
• NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification

Desired Skills:

• 2+ years of experience in a Mental Health setting
